How to Get Started with APIs
Now You Understand What An API Is, What Is Next?
In his white paper A Field Guide To Web APIs, Kin Lane primed the pump by helping to understand just what an APIs is, how they are used, and how they are different from earlier web services efforts. Kin wanted to provide a high level overview of what you would need to design, deploy, and manage APIs, as well as some insight into trends that are emerging across the API sector.
Kin has now published a second white paper in this series: Getting Started with APIs, and will use this workshop opportunity to go through it with you. The goal is to take what you’ve learned from the first paper, build on it, and move you closer to having your own API platform at your organization. Now that you know about APIs, and what is possible, how do we actually make the rubber meet the road, and get you executing on an API first approach across all of your projects.
In this 60 minutes on-demand webinar, Kin Lane covers:
- why you need an API in your organization,
- the different formats your company data can be stored in,
- how to find this data by exploring where it can be stored,
- and explain how and why you can expose this data.
Who should listen?
The small to medium sized business professional, who wants to better understand how they can pull together a more coherent digital strategy, one that involves leveraging web, social, cloud, and mobile technologies, all through an API-first focus.
